Not many of us were born with feet like Fred Astaire, but learning the art of dance is no longer just for ballerinas and Broadway stage performers. Think you can dance? Mainstream media and cyber platforms like YouTube have revolutionized the average person’s access to dance training. I got an opportunity to catch up with International Competitive Ballroom Dance Champion and judge for the hit FOX Series, “So You Think You Can Dance,” Mary Murphy. Mary sat down with FOX News Radio to chat about what judges look for in a great dancer, what makes her tick and how dance has helped her live a fulfilling and purposeful life. Mary shared her determination to work harder than the rest – due to a late start in “the business” – to achieve her dream of becoming a professional ballroom dancer. Mary’s ability to set a goal and push for eighteen years to achieve it is one real life example of how normal people can transform their lives and inspire success.
